Felix Trinidad's bout-by-bout career pro boxing record.

Tito Trinidad: I will knock out Fernando Vargas.

November 15, 2000 -- Puerto Rican boxer, Felix "Tito" Trinidad is making a clear prediction on the outcome of the upcoming match with "Ferocious" Fernando Vargas on Dec 2nd.

"Vargas is a baby," Trinidad said of the 22-year-old International Boxing Federation junior middleweight champion. "He can't beat me. What has he done that you would say he could beat me? I will knock him out. I can promise you that."

Trinidad, who is training in Fajardo, Puerto Rico is said to be in top shape and vows he will do whatever he can to make his battle with Vargas a classic.

"I'm a better fighter than Vargas because I am the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world," said Trinidad, who is undefeated at 38-0 31 KOs and is currently ranked within the top three in most pound-for-pound lists.

Trinidad shouldn't underestimate Vargas.  Vargas is also undefeated at 20-0 and is a fierce warrior who doesn't back off from anyone. Vargas has shown all the signs of greatness, but is he taking this fight too soon?  Many are saying that Vargas should be fighting Trinidad after another 2-4 more fights under his belt.  Many are also claiming that Vargas still has some growing up to do.

But Vargas is focused and eats and sleeps Trinidad.  In fact, Vargas has asked his promoters, Main Events to provide him with a life-sized cutout of WBA champion Felix Trinidad to display in his home so he could be focused on Tito 24 hours a day.

Papa Trinidad has a game plan for Tito to move up in weight next year in anticipation for a battle with the undisputed light heavyweight champion, Roy Jones Jr (43-1 35 KOs).

To do that, though, he must first get past Vargas who will be Trinidad's toughest opponent since Oscar De La Hoya.

Latest Vegas Odds: Trinidad 3 to 1.  Money Line Equivalent: Trinidad -300 Vargas +220.
