A possible next opponent for Trinidad on the undercard - William Joppy.

December 3, 2000 -- World Boxing Association middleweight champion William Joppy  defended his belt in the main under card fight on the Felix Trinidad-Fernando Vargas card by disposing his opponent, Jonathan Reid by KO.  Referee Joe Cortez stopped the fight at 2:43 of the 4th round.

Joppy (32-1 23 KOs), of Silver Spring, Md., fought Reed of Nashville Tennessee on the pay-per-view card of the junior middleweight unification championship fight. 

Joppy is a probable future opponent for Trinidad next year in quest of a showdown with Roy Jones Jr. Felix Trinidad Sr., trainer and manager of Tito, has said his son would move up in weight and challenge Joppy. 

During the post-fight press conference, Don King also mentioned that William Joppy is "in the way of Trinidad's mission and path."

In another title bout on the card, International Boxing Federation junior flyweight champion Ricardo "Finito" Lopez (48-0 35 KOs) of Mexico successfully defended his title against Ratanapol Vorapin (38-5 30 KOs) of Thailand. 

Also, Women's champion Christy Martin (41-2-2 30 KOs) of Orlando, Fla., knocked out Sabrina Hall (10-2) of Grafton, Ohio, in the first round with a devastating right hand.
