Trinidad defeats Reid: Round by Round coverage.

De La Hoya return with a KO of Coley.

Trinidad will only fight De La Hoya as a Super welter weight.

The fight of the millennium:  Oscar De La Hoya vs. Felix Trinindad.

Felix Trinidad is stripped of his IBF & WBC boxing titles.

Puerto Rican boxing champion, Felix Trinidad  was stripped by the International Boxing Federation and the World Boxing Council of his welterweight title because of his move up to the super welterweight division.

Trinidad won a unanimous decision over David Reid for the World Boxing Association super welterweight championship in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 3rd.

The IBF gave Trinidad 72 hours to decide whether to defend the welterweight title or relinquish it and Trinidad decided not to defend the title under their condition.

The IBF sent letters to promoters this week, saying that it was authorizing
an elimination bout between Shane Mosley and Vernon Forrest with the winner to fight Raul Frank, the IBF's No. 1 contender or Felix Trinidad.

The problem is that Mosley signed to fight on June 17th with Oscar De La Hoya, and Mosley's promoter, Cedric Kushner, said there is no way Mosley is going to be involved in an elimination bout.

"That ruling is an abomination," Kushner said. "Why should Shane have to fight an elimination bout? If the No. 1 doesn't want to fight, then just have the No. 2 take his place. If Mr. Raul Frank doesn't want to fight, then he shouldn't be No. 1."

Trinidad, 26, is 37-0 with 30 knockouts and has made 15 defenses of the title since winning the IBF
belt on June 19, 1993, with a second-round knockout of Maurice Blocker.

Last month, the WBC stripped Felix Trinidad of the title and announced it was giving it to De La Hoya after he beat Derrell Coley last month. This was also done because of his move up in weight to fight for another title.

Mauricio Sulaiman, son of WBC president Jose Sulaiman, presented the belt to De La Hoya at a
Staples Center news conference which was announcing the upcoming De La Hoya vs. Mosely fight on June 17th.
