The highest paid Latinos in baseball

Latinos in the Major Leagues are making big bucks playing baseball. There are over 40 native Latin American baseball players who are millionaires playing the sport we all love to watch. Puerto Rican native, Bernie Williams of the NY Yankees leads the pack with a whopping $12.3 million dollars a year. El Dominicano, Sammy Sosa of the Chicago Cubs leads the National League among Latinos with his $11 million per year salary.

In looking at team salaries, the New York Yankees have the highest payroll for the second consecutive year. It's $92.9 million is almost six times Minnesota's $15.7 million, the lowest figure.

The Martinez brothers, Ramon and Pedro combined salary, $20.8 million, is more than the Florida Marlin's entire payroll, $19.8 million and Minnesota Twins' total payroll of $15.7 million..

The highest-paid player is Los Angeles ace right-hander Kevin Brown at $15 million per year of a $105 million dollar contract ( Pedro Martinez is the third highest paid pitcher in MLB with 11.5 million). There are 382 players paid at least $1 million. The highest-paid position, on average, is first base, $2.88 million. The lowest paid are catchers, $1.37 million, on average.
