Marc Anthony to sing the National anthem at the De La Hoya-Mayweather fightWritten by Ozzie Gonzalez, latinosportslegends.com May 04, 2007 -- Salsa singer & actor Marc Anthony will be in attendance for the showdown between Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr. and will be in the ring to sing the National anthem. Anthony, is only one of many celebrities who will be in attendance to witness the biggest boxing match of the year. The list includes, Anthony's wife Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, George Lopez, Tobey Maguire, Leonardo Di Caprio, Mark Wahlberg, John Cusack, Jack Nicholson, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Roberto Duran, NFL Superbowl MVP Peyton Manning and many others. Anthony just finished filming El Cantante in which he portrays Puerto Rican salsa idol Hector Lavoe. Big payday for both fighters. When it comes down to cash money, both fighters will be rewarded for their battle in the ring. Mayweather will make at least $10 million, plus a percentage of the PPV revenue. This will be Mayweather's biggest payday in his pro boxing career. De La Hoya is said to return home to Puerto Rico with at least $23 million which will also include a cut of PPV revenue.
