June 10, 2005 -- Former three-time champion, Hector Camacho Sr. returned to the ring after a one-year layoff to defeat Raul Muñoz of Topeka, Kan., in 10 rounds by a unanimous decision.

Camacho (79-5,38), who is now fighting as a middleweight (160 pounds), wasn't as quick and powerful as the Camacho of 15-years-ago, but was very accurate with his punches, landing a lot of jabs.

Though he received a 97-92 from all three judges, the fans at ringside were not impressed with his performance let alone the decision.

Chaos erupted shortly after the decision and a post-fight scuffle between Camacho and Munoz took place at center ring, fans also got into the melee as fisticuffs broke out in the crowd. Plastic bottles and beer were hurled in the ring as both corners emptied..

"I thought I won the fight clearly," said the 43-year old Camacho. "I think the opponent was (admirable) and I think the fans got their money`s worth."

"I thought I did pretty good for getting a 24 hour notice to be here," Munoz said. "The crowd is the judge. They know what happened... he's dirty fighter."

Camacho objected, "If he wanted a dirty fight I would have given him one... I did alright. I was just pacing myself."

In the undercard, Hector Camacho, Jr. (Camacho's son) TKO'd Francisco Barra (12-15) in 2:03 into the third round.

Camacho Jr., now 38-1-1, was heckled as he left the ring.

The legendary, Julio Caesar Chavez was in the crowd watching the fight.
