A-Rod, who hit 52 home runs last season, hit his third home run of the season in the fourth inning when he crushed a 0-1 pitch from Seattle starter John Halama, 430 feet into the upper deck into left field to put the Rangers up, 2-1. That was the first of A-Rod's two homers in the game. But the one-man show for Texas didn't hold up for long. Seattle answered with six runs on eight hits in the top of the seventh lead by Puerto Rico native, Ruben Sierra. Sierra went 5-for-5 against his former team, the Rangers, which includes a double and a RBI. Sierra now has a scorching .480 batting average and his five hits matched a career high. "I'm feeling good at the plate, trying to stay back and go with the pitch, use my hands more," said Sierra. The Rangers went on to score two more runs in the eighth inning to secure the 9-7 victory against Texas in front of 32,866 at The Ballpark in Arlington. "What a day Sierra had," Mariners manager Lou Pinella said. "Any time you play against your old team, you want to do a little more. I think Ruben has something to prove against this team, the same away that Alex drove in five runs against his old team." The Rangers are now 3-9 and 6 1/2 games behind the Mariners in the American League West.
