Middleweight champ, Felix "Tito" Trinidad has a new cheerleader, cheering him on to defeat Bernard Hopkins when they meet at Madison Square Garden--  his name is Roy Jones Jr.

Jones Jr (45-1, 36 KOs) is looking ahead in anticipation that if Trinidad is victorious against Hopkins, there's a good possibility that a mega-fight between Trinidad and Jones Jr. could become realty.

"They say they want to in April," Jones said after defeating Julio Gonzalez. "Whatever's better for the fans. This could be one of the biggest events in boxing in a long time."

Trinidad will soon face WBC and IBF middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins for the undisputed 160-pound championship at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Jones Jr. wanted to attend the fight, but will be in Australia taping his role as Captain Ballard in The Matrix 2. It won't stop him from cheering Trinidad on. "Yeah, I'll be cheering him on, I'll be sounding like a high school cheerleader," said the very confident Jones Jr. with a big smile. "And if he wins, oh, my gosh."

Jones knows that a match-up with the Puerto Rican champion will give him the biggest payday of his illustrious
career.

"I can make 168," said Jones, who weighed 173 pounds -- two under the limit -- for his bout against Gonzalez. "At 168, ooh, what! You think I'm fast now. You all must have forgot."

Should Trinidad beat Hopkins -- no easy task -- it appears only a matter of time before Jones and Trinidad meet as super middleweights (168 pounds).
