August 29, 2001 -- Boxing fans, especially Puerto Ricans are still angry and outraged at Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins for his actions on the Puerto Rican flag during a recent press tour to promote the finale of the Middleweight Championship Series.

His opponent, Puerto Rican native, Felix "Tito" Trinidad is focused and ready to take out Hopkins' in the ring on Sept. 29th and is asking all his fans attending the fight at Madison Square Garden in NYC to be peaceful and behave.

“I want to ask to my fans to let me do my work to win the fight," said Trinidad. "I dedicate this fight to all my people who will come to Madison Square Garden. I know that the majority of the fans in the Garden will be Puerto Ricans, but I think they will be in good behavior. They will let me do my job, but when the fight is over I don’t know what will happen."

Trinidad continues, "I hope this fight will be remembered as one of the biggest for the Puerto Rican pride and not because something happened or some accident to regret."

The always classy, Trinidad, fears that the event at MSG might turn violent because of the actions that took place in NYC and Puerto Rico when Hopkins threw the Puerto Rican flag on the floor. Especially during the press conference in Puerto Rico when Hopkins stirred up a riot and the stage was pummeled with chairs, bottles and angry fans.

Regardless of the disrespectful tactics of Hopkins, this fight will be settled in the ring and expect nothing but war when the bell rings.
