November 6, 2001 -- Nearly a month after he was admitted into an Argentina hospital, Boxing legend, Roberto "Manos De Piedras" Duran was released last week and is expected to make a full recovery.

Duran underwent surgery for severe injuries to his lungs and ribs when his car crashed on a highway in Buena Aires, Argentina on October 3rd. One of the operations involved relieving  pressure from his lungs which were damaged in the accident.

The very popular, Duran, who was honored at Madison Square Garden during the Trindad-Hopkins fight as one of the top 5 middleweights in boxing history, was in Argentina to participate in several comedy shows and musicals.

Also in the car at the time of the accident were two Argentine reporters, Oscar Ruiz Dias and Luis Jimenez and Duran's son, Roberto Duran Jr.,27, who is a boxer himself. All of the aforementioned are reportedly doing well and recuperating.

Duran's last boxing match was against Hector Camacho Sr. in July.  In the match which was appropriately named "When Legends Collide," Duran fought the younger Camacho for twelve rounds and lost a close decision.

Despite being 50 years old, the legendary boxer from Panama refuses to retire from the sport and remains active.
